Ridgerunner Outfitters LLC is a family owned and operated outfitting business licensed by the Idaho Outfitters and Guides Licensing Board. Located in the heart of the NezPerce-Clearwater National Forest, it is the past home of the elusive Idaho legend, “The Ridgerunner.” Come see this beautiful, wild country with its virgin cedar groves, white pines, fir trees, and hundreds of varieties of ferns. Choose a summer pack trip for fishing, photography, or just plain ‘ol fun and relaxation. Easy access to our Base Camp on Skull Creek is about a 3 hour drive from Lewiston or Kamiah, Idaho.


Archery Elk Hunts - 8 Days

September & October

Enjoy the thrill of a bugling bull from only a few yards away. Our experienced guides will bring them in as close as possible to give you the opportunity you have been waiting for.
Available for your adventure are fully Guided Hunts, Semi-guided Hunt, Drop Camp, or Spike Camp.



Rifle Elk Hunts - 8 Days

October

Ride the ridge tops and glass open hillsides on those crisp mornings and evenings and still hunt the dark timber during the mid-day periods.Horses are available for our Guided Hunts but not always used. We leave it to the discretion of our guides and hunters.

Or choose a Semi-guided Hunt, Drop Camp, or a primitive Spike Camp.

Or turn this 8 day Fall Big Game Hunt (Guided, Semi-guided, or Drop Camp) into a Remote Black Bear Hunt over bait in the back country. Choose hunt and select “Bear Bait Station” in the drop box, then click “Add to Cart” button.




Whitetail Deer Hunt – 5 days

(September, October, & November)

With a high success rate and low hunting pressure, this is a good choice for hunters of all ages. Archery in September; Any Weapon “Rifle” in October; and a November season during the rut; This is a 5 day Guided Hunt or take a deer of your choice as part of an 8 day Big Game Hunt listed below. Your non-resident Whitetail Deer Tag can be used to take either a Whitetail Deer, a Black Bear, a Cougar, or a Wolf making it a powerful tag in your pocket. 

No hounds are used during this hunt. Whitetail Deer Hunts (5 days) $2700



Junior Mentored Hunt – 5 days

(age 10-17 with adult hunter)

Junior Mentored license and tag for non-resident youth hunters age 10-17 are available at extremely reduced cost (nearly as low as those for resident youth).  These young hunters also get $700 discount when accompanied by an adult hunter.  Your guide can act as mentor for a youth without an adult hunter, however, this discount offer does not apply. With a high success rate and low hunting pressure, these Whitetail Deer Guided Hunts are a good choice for new hunters of all ages. 

Junior Mentored Hunt (5 days)  $2000




Mule Deer Hunt – 8 days

(September & October)

Mule Deer are few and far between.  However, when you find a buck, chances are good he’ll be trophy class.  Low hunting pressure on this underutilized resource makes this a choice area for the avid hunter. Archery in September; Any Weapon “Rifle” in October; This is an 8 day Big Game Hunt and makes an excellent 2nd species tag in conjunction with an Elk Hunt. Your non-resident Deer Tag can be used to take either a Deer, a Black Bear, a Cougar, or a Wolf making it a powerful tag in your pocket. No hounds are used during this hunt.

Turn this 8 day Fall Big Game Hunt (Guided, Semi-guided, or Drop Camp) into a Remote Black Bear Hunt over bait in the back country.

Deluxe Spring Bear Hunt - 5 Days (May & June)

Guided Hunts are conducted out of our base camp as well as our back country camps. We hunt bear by glassing hillsides or the use of baits, whichever method you prefer to use to pursue your Bear. We have a number of large Bear with excellent possibility of taking a color phase Bear. To date, more than 1/2 of our Bear have been color phase (Chocolate, Cinnamon, or Blonde). This is a 2 tag area giving you the option to take the first legal bear you like and then hold out for that BIG boar or a different color.


Junior Mentored Bear Hunt – 5 days

(age 10-17 with adult hunter)

With an extremely high success rate of nearly 100%, these Guided Hunts are a GREAT choice for new hunters of all ages.


“EconoHunt” – 5 days

Economy Hunts are conducted out of our base camp. Your guide sets you on active bait stations in a ground blind or treestand – a “sniper nest” for rifle hunters or “up close and personal” for the avid bowhunter and handgun slinger.
The bait is freshened and scented. When he “rings the dinner bell”, the hunt is on. When you harvest, tracking and game retrieval are included.

This “EconoHunt” may be your answer to enjoy the benefits of using an outfitter for a fraction of the cost.




Gray Wolf Hunt - 6 days

September thru December

Gray Wolf tags in Idaho are a result of federal delisting and management transferred to the State. The Lolo Zone has one of the highest population of wolves in Idaho.   These intelligent animals have only been hunted since 2009 offering the opportunity of a lifetime to harvest this elusive species within the lower 48 states.




Deluxe Cougar Hunts - 6 to 10 days

Late November, December, and January

Guided Hunt with hounds and the use of snowmobiles, horses, a truck and/or on foot, as the snow levels and elevation dictate.
Lodging may be at Base Camp, a Cabin, or a motel in the nearest town.
We usually only take one hunter at a time ensuring a quality hunting experience.
This is once again a reduced 2 tag area (non-residents only $41.75 each) giving you the opportunity to keep hunting after taking your first cat. You may also have the opportunity to pursue a Bobcat.
This can be one of the most physical hunts you will ever endure once the chase begins especially if snowshoes are necessary. Shooting is the easy part (once you catch your breath) – the dogs chase the cat, your guide chases the dogs, it’s YOUR job to keep up. Be sure to get in shape for this one and bring along those wool clothes.




Idaho Bobcat Hunts

Late December & January

This is a perfect fit as a second species with a Cougar Hunt since no other hunting tag is required. Or, you may choose to pursue Bobcat as your primary species.
Our area has a Reduced Cougar Tag that is certainly worth having in your pocket in case the hounds cut another track or “Bob’s” BIGGER cousin responds to your predator calls.
There is a mandatory check, report, and pelt tag required after the hunt for a cost of $2 + $1.75 vendor fee per pelt.
A $400 Trophy Fee per Bobcat (additional Species) -or- you may donate Pelt to Outfitter in lieu of this fee.
Should one (1) Bobcat be the only harvested game, the trophy fee does not apply.

Shiras Moose Hunt - 10 days

September, October, and November

Shiras Moose is a Controlled Hunt. Applications available online from Idaho Fish & Game. We hunt the Skull Creek and Quartz Creek Areas where these massive animals call home.

Mountain Goat Hunts - 6 to 10 days

Idaho Mountain Goat Hunt is a Controlled Hunt. Applications available online from Idaho Fish & Game.
We hunt the Mallard-Larkin Pioneer / Collins Creek and Isabella Creek Areas where there are many Record Book class goats.

Forest Grouse Hunt - 3 days

September & October

Forest Grouse are plentiful and easy to find. Ruffed Grouse are the most common with a few Blue Grouse (also known as Dusky Grouse) in the area.
Their tendency to hold tight and short flight in a feeble attempt to hide make these birds a great first hunt for new hunters or a bonus species (at no additional charge) during a Big Game Hunt. Not to mention a good meal.
